As we are not a company that produces or transforms products our environmental impact stems from the logical and necessary processes related to transport and the emission of CO2 into atmosphere.
This is why our policy is centred on the constant evaluation and measurement of the processes implemented in the services provided, to prevent, reduce or eliminate scenarios that harm the environment or people.
In March 1998, MRW was the first company in the sector to be certified under the standard ISO 14001, applying the standard and its procedure in the Central Services and the Connecting Platforms and committing to work on environmental communication to its chain of Franchises.
Some projects carried out

Biodegradable envelopes
The biodegradable compostable envelope complies with the European regulation EN 13432, the only one that currently certifies its composition and guarantees it has no environmental impact, and is guaranteed to decompose in less than six months. The raw material used for making the bio-envelopes is maize starch and a mixture of various components, all of plant origin and therefore organic. The traditional bag-type envelope is gradually being replaced by this biodegradable envelope. Year the complete switch will happen. Read more...

MRW has signed an agreement with REPSOL to promote the use of AutoGas in its fleet of vehicles
With this agreement REPSOL will gradually site AutoGas distribution points in MRW's Spanish Operational Platforms for the refuelling of its fleet.
MRW, in specific compliance with its environmental agenda, has committed to converting 90 % of its structural route fleet to the use of AutoGas within four years.
Every week more than 800 MRW vehicles cover their 1,250 structural routes and travel an average of 1,600,000 kilometres, or in other words, more than 83 million kilometres per year.
MRW is taking this measure to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx) and other polluting particles that have a direct effect on phenomena such as acid rain and cause respiratory problems in many people.
AutoGas, or liquefied petroleum gas (GLP) for automobiles, is the world's most used alternative fuel. Its use enables considerable economic savings and contributes to improved air quality in big cities.
In Europe there are currently more than 7 million vehicles running on AutoGas.
By signing this agreement, MRW is taking another firm and decisive step in its commitment to Social Responsibility, a field in which the company has been continually investing since 1993. Read more...

Paper consumption
Monitoring waste separation with authorised management companies gives us confidence in its correct use. Every year we recycle approximately 9,800 kg, reducing our paper use by 3.27 tonnes.
Replacing individual printers by one printer per floor/department.
Policy of paper reduction and archive digitisation.

Energy savings
In the Central Services and Platforms, the energy savings policies and environmental training have resulted in a reduction of 15 % in energy consumption.
Some examples:
The installation of on/off sensors for lights.
The reduction of plastic packaging in the offices, by using water fountains (osmosis) to refill water bottles.
