Our commitment

In the current world nobody doubts that the success of a company lies in something more than offering quality service and having an excellent brand strategy. Today's society still values these qualities in a company but demands more from it: examples of complicity and social responsibility.

At MRW we have been taking part in social action for 18 years, and in the current economic context not only are we continuing our social plans, but are also working to continuously innovate and improve. Over the last 18 years we have made more than 19 million solidarity consignments, each of them with a different story.

From our directors to our messengers, we are contributing to and participating in helping others, through the activity we best know how to do: express transport.

But at MRW we have evolved and now in addition to working in the area of social action, we are also concentrating our efforts on reaching not only groups special needs, but also all the people or groups of people linked to MRW.

Social Responsibility Guide

CSR in Franchise Companies

"CSR in Franchisee Companies", the first guide to explain how to approach the comprehensive management of Social Responsibility in the Franchise model, was presented at ESADE in Barcelona on 27th October.

This initiative by MRW and the Global Compact Network Spain is internationally groundbreaking. The aim of the Guide is to bring CSR from the current situation of a large company (Franchiser) closer to the group of small and medium-sized enterprises making up its franchises.

The Guide is structured to ensure franchisers interested in managing CSR in their franchise network are able to comprehensively coordinate and promote unique values. To do so, franchiser companies have been classified according to the relationship model they have with their franchise network and, based on this, different alternatives have been posed for the management of their CSR.

All of this is illustrated with case studies of Franchisers such as MRW, Mango, Eroski, Javierre and Sol Melià, which successfully apply good CSR practice.

Fleet of AutoGas vehicles

MRW has signed an agreement with REPSOL to promote the use of AutoGas in its fleet of vehicles

With this agreement REPSOL will gradually site AutoGas distribution points in MRW's Spanish Operational Platforms for the refuelling of its fleet.

MRW, in specific compliance with its environmental agenda, has committed to converting 90 % of its structural route fleet to the use of AutoGas within four years.

Every week more than 800 MRW vehicles cover their 1,250 structural routes and travel an average of 1,600,000 kilometres, or in other words, more than 83 million kilometres per year.

MRW is taking this measure to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx) and other polluting particles that have a direct effect on phenomena such as acid rain and cause respiratory problems in many people.

AutoGas, or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for automobiles, is the world's most used alternative fuel. Its use enables considerable economic savings and contributes to improved air quality in big cities.

In Europe there are currently more than 7 million vehicles running on AutoGas.

By signing this agreement, MRW is taking another firm and decisive step in its commitment to Social Responsibility, a field in which the company has been continually investing since 1993.

Biodegradable envelopes

MRW supports biodegradable and compostable bags

The biodegradable compostable envelope complies with the European regulation EN 13432, the only one that currently certifies its composition and guarantees it has no environmental impact, and is guaranteed to decompose in less than six months. The raw material used for making the bio-envelopes is maize starch and a mixture of various components, all of plant origin and therefore organic.
